Born in Tofo in 2013, Mafu Haus is a rustic-chic hotel that cherishes craft skills, trees and bees. It is a rewilding dream manifest. Set on a gentle hill overlooking the golden Bay of Inhambane, Mafu Haus is enveloped by Nhamua’s farming and fishing community. Culture, craft, wellness, and the nature of humanity are our passions. Since beginning our journey we have planted over 1,500 native trees, welcomed 8 new bee hives to our land, and partnered with our neighbours to improve local water and electricity supply. There is a lifetime of good work with good people ahead.

At Mafu Haus, quietly seeing beauty in nature is your fortune and our great work. Our built structures are crafted of rammed earth and we run on 100% renewable energy, vegetarian cuisine, and gratitude.
